Ampeg V4B problem

Good to hear that Loud is sorting it out for you and that it won't take too long to get a replacement.

They never want anyone poking around inside these amps. So good customer service helps them avoid people doing this.

You mean people like "me" Beans :) I called a couple of Ampeg service centers they all are a nice car ride away I told both places that I would pay extra if I could have four power tubes biased for me while I waited? I also said its a brand new amp and they both turned me down said I would have to leave it what's it take half hour tops? Is this an unreasonable request? I don't want to leave it and waste gas and time for something this minor.

Since it is a brand new amp with a failure they have to start the warranty repair process with Ampeg/Loud. I'm sure if you are willing to camp there a couple of days while the failure is diagnosed and the repair auth comes through from Ampeg/Loud they might agree. But it will take A LOT more than a half hour ;)

Sure plenty of houses for sale out here, just remember it is a desert in more ways than just the weather ;).

Understand their hands are tied as even the output tubes are in warranty right now. They can't risk losing factory authorization status from Ampeg/Loud by filling your request :) Manufacturers can be very touchy about these things (meaning it is not their fault, just in their best interest)

I forgot about that and it makes sense. I'm really liking the JJ's if they go out I'll replace them with something else. I feel better now I thought those guys were being jerks thanks B.

It's a matter of providing customer service and organization of their work at the service center. It doesn't seem unreasonable to ask to make an appointment and wait while the work is being done. The job can be hurried and done in half an hour. If they take their time you are talking about an hour.

Why not PM Hodgy and explain the situation. He might be able to set you up with a service center that will allow you to make an appointment and wait.
