Ampeg V4B vs. SVT CL

Same or very similar Ampeg tone-- I prefer the SVT because you can always turn down 300W if you don't need all the power.

The three flights of stairs will routinely be a painful moving ordeal for the V-4B or the SVT. I use an SVT every week, and I don't have that 3-flight challenge. Lugging the SVT and a small sealed cab around is not very pleasant, despite its great tone.

If you really like the Ampeg tone, the PF-800 may be a great alternative for now, and pair it up with the smaller Berg sealed 10s, 12's, or 15's. The PF-800 can also function as a great backup amp eventually--when you get your SVT and a non 3-flight storage scenario.
