Ampeg v4b

Looking at possibly a vintage v4b, it appears to have 3 switches where the power/standby switches are. It also has several horizontal switches above the controls. I'm not really looking for an amp like this, but I have the money for it. I'm going to go check it out soon, condition unknown. It comes bundled with a bunch of other gear the guy wants to unload, pedals, small amps, cables etc.

Assuming it works well or doesn't work at all would you offer for just the v4b?

Depending on its condition, the going prices I see on most used V4Bs is $600 - $800. of course if the seller is motivated you might get a better deal.

Yeah he's not a musician it just came in a house he bought to remodel or something. All the pics are bad and everything is covered in dust. I don't know if I'd pay that much for all of the gear. It's interesting though, I may get to check the stuff out tomorrow I will update on my finds. There's some old stuff in there.

Borrow or make a light bulb limiter before you power it up. See if those old caps are any good. A recap is expensive. I rebuilt a V4B a couple of years ago. It was fun, a lot of work, and expensive.

A good condition vintage V4B is a treasure

Are those horizontal rocker switches black or white? That helps date it, I believe (They boost the bass, mids, and treble .. L-R )

They're white. I haven't heard back from the guy though. I guess he found someone else who sounded more interested or has been too busy. I was looking forward to atleast getting to check it out.
