Ampeg Venture VB112 vs Aguilar SL112

Thanks for the reply. Any reason you didn't keep the Aguilar?
I have a vb112 and a 115,also had most every Aguilar cab. The 112/115 together sits in my spare bedroom as my everyday go to setup, I really like the warmth and punchy low-end I get out of it, I prefer the front porting vs the Aguilar rear port only because of my home situation that they have to sit against the wall.
They sound really good with my TH500 and I probably won't buy anything alse,of course I don't gig so I can't verify the use out in the wild, also they are super lite.
In my opinion the Aguilars are built with a bit more quality but the price also reflects don't think you would be to disappointed.

Very nice rig and thanks for sharing your experience. I've owned 5 different Aguilar cabinets over the years but they're gone due to their weight.
Your Ampeg cabs look to be a viable option for my arthritic back.
P.S. I live in CT but grew up in Yonkers.
Maybe we chewed some of the same dirt..

When time came to replace my old cab (TC Electronics 210) I really looked into de Aguilar, but finally went for a not so good sounding but very, very light 112, as I wanted it as stage monitor, so sound quality was not so important (for me).
Good to know. I went ahead a bought the SL112 also but I never got ears on the VB112. Did you have that cabinet?
Yes had the 12 and 15,sounded really well. Just way more than i need for the house, Plus the older i get (62) i just have a funny thing about import products,I realize almost everything has something imported on/in it but thats not the current beef. some of build to me could be better. DM if you want any more info.
