I really don't like any of the choices... Marshall and Line 6?....... "interesting" choices... my favorite amp manufacturers are in order

Mesa Boogie- I'm new to the Mesa, so I may still be in the honeymoon phase, but I have never had an amp blow me away like this one has

Genz Benz- I've played Genz for years and am sad to see the state of the company right now I still play a Contour stack for small shows and practice and I love it

Carvin- I used nothing but Carvin amps when I was touring and I loved them

GK- For the longest time, I thought GK was another Guitar Center Casualty, but I am glad to say that I was wrong... their higher end stuff are some of the best amps I've ever played through

Peavey- these are and always have been absolute tanks... they don't have that "boutique" sound but they always work

From your list, I picked Ampeg. And I am an Ampeg man. I also love Genz Benz. Mark Bass makes some great stuff but I don't really have experience with it. Orange bass gear has a very distinctive sound. And I like it. I get to play through an AD-200 and a 4x12 at one of the studios where we play. And I do like it.

I own Marshall, Orange and Ampeg I like them all for different reason. If I had to just go with one..............HIWATT I own three of those

Avoid Marshall and Line 6. Of your list I'd go for either Ampeg or Orange. Have a look at GK and Peavey as well.

Other than one bass cabinet Line 6 doesn't even list bass amps on their website any more! I did have one of the LD750 heads for a while and it was pretty cool. Nice and loud and sounded good too. The built in effects and tuner were nice and you could access everything from one small pedalboard that connected directly to the head. If you can find a used one cheap it might make a decent amp, especially if you like messing around with effects.

While I agree that Marshall has pretty much ignored bass players for some time, if you get a chance to try out a VBA400 head, you won't be disappointed!

Line-6? I know it is NOT Line-6. lol. Your list as mentioned earlier is way too limiting. But Ampeg wins this based on sheer amount of models that have not sucked over the years. Orange is 2nd.

Out of those 4, Ampeg is the only actual choice. Do the other three even make real bass amps? They're all guitar amp manufacturers..

I know Geddy Lee and Julie Slick both use Orange bass amps. I haven't heard much bad things about them. Marshall made the SuperBass, but I don't think they make much bass amps anymore.
