Dude, how about titling your thread "What footswitch for an Ampeg SVT-IIP?"
Just putting the word "Ampeg" is not going to net you somebody who knows the answer.

Seem's uncalled for....its a question about an Ampeg amp in the amp forum. Not really that mind "boggling" in the scheme of things.... Sorry, I don't have an answer for you Cherp

My SVT-II (non-pro) amp is supposed to have the exact same preamp section as your SVT-IIp; my EQ section footswitch jack will engage/disengage the EQ correctly with most any brand of single-button latching foot-switch pedal that has a standard 1/4 plug. (like a guitar cord uses).
Many different brands of amps use these same switching-pedals, and some are fairly inexpensive like this one:

As far as building your own:
These simple switching pedals work by shorting (or connecting) the plugs two conductors, when in the on position, and simply disconnecting the two in the off position.
Here's a two-button switching pedal I built for one of my guitar amps to foot-switch both the reverb and vibrato:
I just used (inexpensive) automotive dimmer switches for mine.

Thank you very much. At one time, years ago I believe I had called Ampeg about this. And could not remember any more if it was a single or dual foot switch. Thank you again.
