AmpliTube Fender plug

CHeck the new IK Amplitube Fender plugin deal. Its got models of the TBP-1 pre and the Bassman 300. The audio demos sounds pretty nice, want to demo this puppy tho. Played thru my friends TBP-1 before and love it!

Those sounds are nice. I'm getting more and more convinced that modeling is at least nearing actual amp quality.

I started to play guitar seriously again recently, and got all my old gear out- and started to check out the new stuff. The top of the line modeller is AXE FX, and if you check them out, the rest pale in audible comparison.... but at the price of their asking, you could be done with a top end tube amp and a decent mic to boot, and be done with it.

I have used digital modelling in commerical recordings, but mainly as a processor or effect. I have used Amplitube in various situations but have never found them to replicate faithfully, but this is not to say what they make or offer is not useable. Just my two cents, anyway....

Will have to check out the Ampeg one, somehow i cruised right over that! The IK website says the Fender plugin is shipping this month, cant wait to check it out..

Checked out that AXE-FX deal, is it hardware only or do they offer s software version? Didnt see that listed...

Thanks!

The Fender software is officially out! You can download a 10 day trial from the IK website @ [Invalid or Expired Link Removed].

Curious what others think, but I am digging it! The TBP1 bass pre sounds gnarly with a great tube overdrive.

I dabble on the guitar as well and everything just sounds really authentic. Very impressed so far, looks they are getting some of that tax refund.:bassist:

Im going to try it next week. At the moment im really loving the MarkBass Studio 1 but thats only on a 14 day trial so ill wait for that to expire first.
Only downside with the MB is no tuner. Not a deal breaker but im having to open up another app to tune up if i need to.

IK has got the ear for this. And I've heard they null tested against the originals. It's the same.

It's pretty smart that IK has the contract with the names like "Fender" and "Ampeg" to do the signature modeling. Honestly, others are doing a good job cheaper, but they can't use the name. Even Peavey Revalver has a Bassman model. With the real manufacturers backing the name you know it's going through a lot of sign offs on the sound matching.

With netbooks going for $200, I bet you'll see just an embedded VST in a regular looking preamp config soon.

Ive just had a quick play with the Fender plugin and to be honest im not sure about it.
Most of the presets have some distortion in them and im not sure how close they are to the originals.
I must add so far ive only used it under Windows 7 so this could be an issue (the MB studio one and Guitar rig work fine though).
Maybe this is how they are supposed to be and its nothing backing the level off cant fix.
Ill update this in a few days once i get used to it.
