To the OP.....the RB comes with 10, 12 and 15 in speakers... try on of those.

I've tried the 10" version, which I was about to buy until numerous others expressed concern over anything below 100 watts. Personally, I thought it was definitely enough power, but that's just me and I know nothing lol.

That’s about 2/3 the price of new. It’s got a 10 inch speaker and made overseas. Perfectly fine for playing alone in your bedroom. Maybe it’ll keep up with some low volume jams with your friends (if the drummer plays only a cajon and tambourine). What I and others are trying to impress upon you is that in 6 months those little jam sessions may turn into a live gig at a friends BBQ or the farmer’s market. A practice combo like that will just not work well. Given your limited budget you might want to get the amp that will get you through the next year or two no matter where your journey takes you. That’s where the old Peavey TNT or TKO combo comes in. You’ll have 65 to 120 watts (maybe more) driving a 15 inch speaker. It will work in all the situations I mentioned. The trade offs? Heavy. Some would say ugly (not me). No one ever said “that’s the best sounding amp I ever heard” (nor is it the worst). Best of luck in your search.

The above is right. The RB110 is a great little home practice amp but it's not built to cut through in a live setting, you'll be drowned out.

Save up for a decent 12 or 15 (preferably 15). You only need $100-200 or so extra to have a lot more choices used. If you can, stretch your budget a little bit.

Acoustic B100C? 100w and 15" speaker for 150 used about. It's heavy, though, which is my biggest problem with it. I need to be able to carry an amp and my 8lb bass+10lb case... the B100c is around 40lbs I think, but the Peavey max 100 is just 22lbs.

B100C is 12". I have one.

Peavy combos with 15" were my prior go-tos for inexpensive combos, 15" speaker, 100-200W. Back in the 70s when Peavy was new, they were the cheap alternative. Always regretted getting the Peavy head, instead of the Acoustic head, to go with 2x15 Acoustic cabinet. Over the years though, Peavy became quite good.

Lots of people recommend old Peaveys, but they're just too heavy :(

Get an Ampeg Ba115 used from GC. They'll ship to your local store so you can try it out and choose not to buy if it's not as described. There's a ton of them at $199.
