It's been a while, since I've laughed particles of my brains out. The visual is really interesting
Man if I was in a band where someone pulled that kind of stunt there would be some bust up after. For the record I know whinehouse's band are payed side men not part of a group with her. I'd find it hard to deal with a person like this. I don't care if you go blind from taking whatever you get your hands on. But if your doing a gig you damn sure better be able to put on your best performance every time. Then do whatever the hell you want after.
I'm sure Amy felt no repercussions for doing this either. Which is unfortunate for everyone concerned.

Ouch! I could maybe see the purposefully-weird aspect of it as the backup singers were singing some of the same non-sensical vowels with her a few times. Still, she was all over the place and looked like she forgot the words - and that she was on stage! 
While I live just down the street from Daptone Records and cherish the first Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings record, Ms. Jones has been disappointing me lately. Last time I saw them, Sharon was all about the Diva thing and it was pretty lame. The band is amazing but she seems to be more interested in being "Sharon Jones" than a musician anymore. Just my opinion as of late.

i am pretty sure shes high and or drunk, but also relatively talentless. i love her backup bands though, and the music on her album is great. she just blows though. regardless of her music, for her own good i hope she goes ot rehab, please please please.

+1 on both counts: The Dap Kings are awesome and tight, with great tone, and Winehouse is destroying herself even though she could have been something special.
Yeah, the Dap Kings are great. With that Baritone Sax, which I love, they sound reminiscent of TOP. Sharon Jones is a amazing ball of fire.

OBTW, I have seen live television performances by many great artists and afterwards I ask myself if that was just a put on. I think when some artists become famous enough they try and play along the line between great and farce. Almost like they are becoming a caricature of themselves. I have seen the Stones, Prince, Sting, Madonna deliver what was that kind of performances. Bob Dylan is the master of kitsch. Is he for real or always pulling our legs? In any instance it could be drugs, arrogance, boredom or a way to make what may have become humdrum, interesting. BWDIK

Thnx for that! Marcus plays bass clarinet and saxphone, I had no idea. Roy Hargrove, Candy Dufler (sounded a lot better than I gave her credit for) and marcus on woodwinds.

She has an amazing voice, but she needs to lay off the drugs. Words to one of her songs "they tried to make me go to rehab and I said no no no". Was that a real life situation that you wrote a song about?

Amazing. Holy crap.
Check out this Bob Dylan video. It sounds similarly unintelligible. From Dylan I have heard far worse. I'll bet that after some of the performances they go back stage and laugh their hinny off.
I think it may be proof of what a huge star one is. They can go out screw off and get paid. For instance what about Jaco and the stunts he pulled. It's a tradition in the music business. Dean Martin and Sam Davis used to get rollicking drunk and perform. IIRC Dean Martin used to be completely loaded on his TV show.

If somebody from her family and friends were reading this, I'm not sure they'd like having her named this way.
Imagine one of your family member having drug problem and people calling that person a "crack whore", I'm not sure you'd love it.
She has issue, and I'm not sure we should judge her. We can only say that she needs help.
Considering that the other performances at the EMA's were along these lines

Yeah, while that particular performance was awful, she can sound really good live. She's just exaggerating the tendency to drag the rhythm of the song that she can turn to her advantage, usually.
