An amazing customer service story!!!

I purchased my beloved Pedulla Pentabuzz about a year and a half ago. It was a 2003 model, so it had been on the floor for a while, but the tone was just killer, so I bought it anyway. Probably due to humidity and a lack of care and adjustment, the ebony had swelled a little in one spot down by the D on the B string causing them buzz more than usual. I called Michael Pedulla. He fixed it for free even though it was an older bass. A few weeks ago I noticed that the lines on the fretless fingerboard were sticking up a little and it was making a few of the notes the notes rattle badly. Again, it's probably due to humidity or just a finicky piece of ebony. It wasn't totally horrible, but it was audible and annoying. Needless to say, I was totally bummed. I e-mailed him about the issue on a Friday night. On Monday morning he called me up and said that he was going to build me a brand new bass for free!!! Not only that, but he agreed to build me a Hexabuzz (6 string) in the color I wanted (Peacock Blue) with the hardware (Black) and pickups I wanted (Bart Soapbars), no lines or dots on the fingerboard, 19mm spacing and he's upgrading me from AA flame maple to AAA flame maple. He also said that he would put my bass to the front of the line and get it to me within only a few weeks. I am blown away! He said, "I only put out top notch basses and if one of them is less than perfect I will replace it for free." I guess customer service does still exist. I thought you'd all like hear this story. I'll post pics of it when it gets in. Later, Steve

Now THAT is an amazing piece of news!!!!

Fabulous!!!!! The Pedulla basses are really great instruments, and I am sure you'll have many. many years of enjoyment from your new one. The great thing also is that your story will stick in everyone;s mind who reads this thread (I know that I for one will always remember it for future reference)

It's great to read a completely positive thread here rather than hearing someone's tale of woe which gets no resolution. Tell Michael he's a complete superstar!!!

I am currently searching for a new fretless and have been considering a Hexabuzz. It is a toss up between an BN6 Fbass and the Hexabuzz. I know George's service is amazing and that was holding me back from considering a Pedulla bass. I guess my decision just got harder.

Hats off to Pedulla and their going the extra mile to stand behind their basses.

I love hearing these types of success stories. Guys like Pedulla are the creme de la creme of bass making. You have to have a GREAT product and a PHENOMENAL level of customer service to succeed in this business. We all know who the good guys are and we all know who the bad guys are!! Keep posting these success stories!! ;)

Free upgrades are always unexpected, but always a treat. I'll post pics of it when it gets in. Later, Steve
