Many folks (incl me) think highly of the BiComp for bass... it's the one compressor I use on my board, after having also tried the Demeter, EBS, Barber Tone Press, RNC, 160A, and several others that escape me at the moment. The BiComp's CompRossor side pretty much mails the sound I like to hear in a compressor... the Juicer side is somewhat less useful for my own needs, but still very cool for when I'm going for a kick-drum type of effect. The only pedal compressor I prefer is the Restrospec Squeezebox, which I don't use on the live-board due to its size and rarity/value.

im thinking of just getting a CompRosser and not the bicomp, im looking at the comprosser with external attack control. there is a long waiting list for the bicomp and im just really after a bit of compression to get a thick groovey sound and maybe knock the high end down when i slap.

good idea... the external attack is very handy IMO. given the waiting list for new, and the prices that used 4-knob BiComps go for (typically more than new!), a 3-knob comprossor is a good call
