Analogue volume control pedal for keyboard

A friend of mine joined our band as a keyboardist, using a decent Yamaha piano/synthesizer. One significant problem is having him terrace his dynamics such that his accompaniment levels & soloing levels markedly differ. His digital pedal decreases the output about 129db, so he says. It's not usable.

any passive low impedance (25k) volume pedal will do the trick.

also, "129dB" is impossible, that's the difference between dead silence and like a car bomb going off. either you heard him wrong or he's using terminology that he has no idea what it means.

(for that matter any good keyboard should have all kinds of patches and presets so he can program in all the volume differences he needs.)

He can only choose between two patches.

If we get him more gigs, he will get a small synthesizer (Moog Minataur?) to do the synthesizer sounds far more competently than the Yamaha can provide, & thst will free up the Yamaha to do what it does best: piano vibes, etc.

In the meantime, off the top of your head can you recommend an affordable, noiseless 25k attenuator pedal?

the ernie ball VP jr 25k is a durable industry standard, while there are boss versions that are bigger but well-regarded, both in the $100 ballpark.

i'm seeing the Invalid Link Removed (which even says it's for keyboardists) used on ebay and reverb for like $50.

Thanx Walterw. You always have good electronics advise. Since we have lost a whole slew of gigs in a venue whose owner committed suicide, the keyboardist will have to spend $50-$100 for essential a foot controlled pot. My limit is $30 to throw away as a gift.
