i love you guys! at first i thought this was just gonna be a thread where i got bashed for every decision i made on this thing and im finally feeling the love..so while i have like minded individuals here i want opinions on my neck dilemma.
i want maple because i like maple necks, but rosewood wouldnt be out of the question if it had blocks soooo
a)Maple board with Black dots
b)Maple white pearl blocks & creme binding
c)Rosewood board with Pearl blocks and binding
all options would be vintage tint

Either that or a maple with black dots, but I'll admit, I don't like maple/pearl blocks, the blocks don't stand out enough, IMHO. Maybe with the vintage tint, I've not really seen the vintage maple/pearl combo.
*EDIT: Double win, if you think you can do a matching headstock.
First off, I searched my butt of to find a non standard P bass, even red basses are too standard and when the 60s Classic Vibe P arrived I knew it was meant for me.
I just ordered my 62 Pick Ups from eBay, also my pots... all this, just because I want those barrel knobs on my bass!
I really get sentimental because of this!

if Stupidhead Jordan wouldnt have sold his rw blocked board totally would have snagged his..i was so miffed when i came across the fact that he was selling one and it had JUST sold.
edit: maybe it was quadzilla...if so sorry jordan (who im sure will lurk by here soon) youre not a stupidhead.

heh, rubix cubes are awesome, even if I always hit mine with a hammer, and re assemble them, lol.
I'd guess it was Quad, I don't remember Jordan having a Bound and Blocked neck, besides his Geddy Lee.
But Quad, he always sells stuff too fast!
I *just* missed a swanky blue/maple Peavy Cirrus, one time. 
come to think of it it was Quad. i hate the classifieds. everything you click is always sold. there should be an efficent way to clean it all out to see whats still available id much rather buy off a tber

It would be cool if they worked a cleanup tech.
I agree buying off of a Tber is the best way, if possible, there are some incredible deals to be had, from decent folk.

I just started a CV 60s P mod myself. I was gassing for a AV 62 P like something fierce. Until I started to realize I had the basics in CV P and with a little modding...
I like the neck, its profile is closer to a Jazz neck than a P and the rosewood board gives it a nice darker sound than the maple. I like since all my other P's have maple boards.
Replaced the pups with 62's and plan on maybe spray painting the PG another color other than white, this is the ugliest thing on this bass. Squire should have gone with a tort guard.
Might replace the tuners with a hipshot drop D and take a little tint of the neck ala RW 50's P.
And has everyone notice the CV 60's P does not have a CNC hole so it could be rocked without a PG. Love this bass

Can you put up some pics showing what the sonic blue looks like after you took the shine off. I want to do that to mine but can't bring myself to do it yet. Do you like the look? would you do it agian?

totally what im going for and i want that aged look..not that terri-bad relic job like on that Nash. i def think ill be going with the original plan to get a plain maple n dots combo. i wish i had the skill to age out a neck properly like that

And yeah, the Nash relic is just too much, a few nicks and light scratches may have been stylish, but that looks like you gave it to a carpenter who forgot his hammer one day...

im also thinking of a quick UV bake and real light wetsand to take the finish duller/less bright like that 71 appears and maybe doing a waterslide pinup gilr on the back and bang and nick up the decal. ive always loved Steve Jones's old Les Paul with the pinup but wouldnt want to ruin the clean front of this bass like that but the back will give it that personal touch to me that very few will even see and also that relic touch without beating the hell out of the bass. slightly tastefully aged.
