and it starts...modding the Squier 60's CV P

Hmm I also changed the tuners to the reversed geared tuners (they are at my luthier now).
I love how those clovers stick out a bit more.
I don't know how or why, but my bass keeps getting small dents and scratches, I love it. :)

@ My Idol, I just scratched my name (with a X-Acto knife) on the neckplate to give it a more personal touch.

im just changing it to a blank plate or since this is my first build my own bass build i may take it tio things remembered and get something clever engraved

i was thinking about getting "Your Idol's B****" letting fools know who touch it know who it belongs too..also i think its classy with the pinup girl.
i think the pinup will express the soul of the bass what the personality of it..like the bass is my mistress. im probably thinking too deeply on this but i like it and simply dont give a damn :D

250 are slightly darker than 500, just noticeably.

Have you a specific tone in mind?

I usually use 500's, but I recently put 250's in a fretless I spent months trying to get a woody thumpy, uprighty tone, turns out them pots were the missing link to all the other mods I done.

Oh, and chatfest thread? Tommy shall be along shortly....

Damn! Totally missed this thread!

I'd just go with:

Fender 59 CS pbass pup
mint pg
full ashtrays
flats

Funk baby!

Have you picked up a neck yet? i think this one is sweet but i am not a fan of the price tag. There is a mighty mite maple neck for sale in the classifieds to.

While cost really isnt an issue to me im certainly not down to shell out more on a mexican neck then i did on the bass PLUS the sum of its replacement parts..best of luck to that guy though.

i keep stalking MM necks on the bay they have several for $97.97 that plus reranch vintage tint laquer and decal will take me to the $130 range, a very agreeable price, so the only way im really gonna deviate from that is if i find someone selling one with the tint work done already or one with vintage style tuners already installed for a cheaper price which i doubt will happen. im thinking next pay or if i catch my tax rebate soon i will be snagging a neck but by all means until i announce ive got it if anyone comes across killer deals that fit the bill let me know.
