A lot of people(mainly in the US)don't know of that band, let alone her. They never really caught on here(like a lot of worthy Brit/Scot/Irish bands), but they did tour. Jimmy McCulloch, who went on to Wings, was their teen whiz guitarist, replacing Les Harvey, who had been electrocuted on stage by faulty wiring. He was the brother of the iconic(but cult)Scottish singer Alex Harvey, and James Dewar(bass with Robin Trower)spent time in the band as well. Keyboardist Ronnie Leahy played with Jack Bruce.

The early Stone the Crows with both Dewar and Maggie on vocals was special, two killer voices in one band. I came to dig Stone the Crows back when bassist Steve Thompson joined, I dug his playing with Mayall. I really dug them, a soulful rock band.

Actually, by the time of his Warner Brothers solo career, I'd gotten rid of him from my playlist. Like so many other of my 60's/very early 70's faves, as the decade wore on all I heard was a bunch of sad crap.

Indeed, after an impressive start with the first Jeff Beck Group, Stewart released some unique & excellent solo albums and then started an unfortunate slide into mediocrity and worse as he sought mass popularity. I suspect the late Jeff Beck had good reason for joking that he and Rod had a love-hate relationship: "He loves me and I hate him."

I'm 70 years old and proud as hell of them. I wasn't a big fan back in the day, but saw them a couple of times in concert. Definitely rocked! I was more into the prog rock thing back then (not sure that's what we called it ) Keep going girls!!!
