Yep, nice guy. I had the opportunity to jam with him a cuppla times (he was friends with my then-bassist) years ago - I always remember the kick that he called a "cannon" - about 12" by seemed like 36", as I recall. Great drummer.

I lived with he and his ex-wife for a spell about 20 years ago, jammed with him a few times, and got to see him really let loose with a couple of the ensembles he played with. He can play like Jojo Mayer when you take the leash off of him.

He does play guitar and sing for his own stuff, but no you've pretty much nailed it. Several friends of mine have reported he's a fun guy to hang out with, although I haven't had the pleasure.

My wife did sound for his band, the Out Crowd. at a small club. I was impressed with their sound, definitely playing at the right volume for the room.

pretty much sounded like Jonestown.
