You're right about the Vox guitars this band uses, sometimes 3 12 strings and it sounds good, plenty of other guitars too and the bass is way up in the mix which is good. I think they are recreating Hippie San Francisco music 20 years later and added some shoe-gaze drone from their era. Some of them are also recreating the hippies main character disorders too, left over from distant abusive fathers (that was normal in the 50s).
