Ahh but you see for a not insignificant number of TB'ers, music peaked with Rock 'n' Roll and reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaal Rock and Roll stopped happening around 1984. If the music isn't old enough to run for US President then it's new trash for young'ns that are ruining the industry with their iPods, cell phones, backing tracks, and computers.

When I was living in Chicago, (warning, name dropping dead ahead) I was at dinner one night with John Herndon of Tortoise and Bob Weston of Shellac, the place was playing electronic music through their sound system, and Bob started complaining about it and called it "Email Music" lmao. That term has stuck with me to this day.

lololol I love it. Personally not a big fan of Email music myself (definitely using this term moving forward), but in an effort to try and stay open minded to how things are changing in the industry I like to think that every genre has at least something to offer. Even if it isn't necessarily something for me.

For sure. And it gets more challenging the more soulless commercial pop gets, but if you dig deeply enough on the magic Spotify machine, there is no shortage of brilliant young writers/performers.

Look, I’m not telling you they’re Radiohead or anything. But they definitely had some strong “college” hits.
