Animato clone query

Take it for what its worth, but my Crowella had a really bad blend circuit. The volume ratios were never right no matter where it was set. I sold it pretty soon afterI got it. It was really just a trebly mess. The new ones though may have been improved.

The original circuit design has phase shift issues. So a blend will only blend part of the phased signal. It's not a fault of Crowella, just an inherent issue with way the Animato works. A lot of Muff based dirt has these issues and it's why some fuzzes don't have blends.

Interesting. I never heard of this but it definitely could explain away the weird issues I was having with my blend circuit. There was simply no "magic place" on the blend knob where everything fell into place. And boy did it lose low end because of this. The Crowella ended my interest in Animato circuits for sure.
