I saw a Lera Lynn song on youtube, checked out the bass player, read this on her site and laughed.

Annie is from a really great musician family here in New Orleans. Check out her dad Cranston Clements an old blues guitar player and her little brother Austin who is a monster on the 5 string.

It's about time to revive this thread. There's now a (great!) disc out of "Hawaiian noir" music by Hula Hi-Fi, featuring Annie on vocals and upright bass, available through Bandcamp. This album is all covers of a wide variety of artists, but they promise an eventual all-originals album. Here's a video of one of the tracks:



Annie has been touring recently with rising country star Maren Morris. Here's a killer three-song "Tiny Desk" set on which Annie provides electric bass and background vocals:



None of this stuff is anywhere near the kind of music I ordinarily listen to, but I can't but love both of these projects!
