Do you put ketchup on your hot dog?

Depends. Hot dog alone in a bun, yes. Chicago style with pickle, relish, etc, no.

The real question that this thread should be about is whether people put ketchup on their brat. (That’s bratwurst, in case you’re not familiar with the terminology.) *That* is the question whose answer divides the cultures from the Philistines.

(The correct answer is, “no of course not. Mustard and kraut, maybe grilled onions if near Sheboygan.”)
 
I knew a guy that ran a hot dog food truck. He used to have every condiment under the sun available to his customers. He prided himself on coming up with really strange combinations and giving them funny names. I wish I could remember them but one combination had peanut butter, among other things, on it. He always said if you try the special and don't like it I will make you a new dog free of charge. I tried the dog with peanut butter. It was really weird, but I ate the whole thing. Never ordered it again though.
