Another buzz thread

I really did do a lot of digging here before starting this thread. Advice is all over the place.

Typical issue - lots of buzzing in a particular venue when not touching the strings or bridge. Touching it makes the problem go away. This doesn't seem to happen in other environments typically. It seems to happen with any single coil instrument for sure, such as Jazz basses. I've also been told that a person has the same problem with a duall HH Stingray, so I don't think it's limited to single coils only.

From reading here, some have suggested that these problems are related to improper grounding in the building itself, and not faulty wiring or shielding in the instrument.

Does anyone who really understands this kind of thing really have any good advice? I would appreciate folks only responding who have some definite expertise in this area.
