Another Ebay bass, no idea what it is...

Just picked this up after GAS struck again:

The neck reminds me of a Peavey, but I wasn't able to find one like it anywhere. No ID marks anywhere on it. Does it remind any of you of anything?

Sure looks like the Peavey headstock.

The body looks like a 70's to 80's Peavey as well.

Already snatched it up, sadly it was over $30 :/

In any case, I'll post more disassembled pics once I get it. Still no luck googling for old Peavey bass models...

The "bridge" is a bent piece of sheet metal with some holes, and a pair of saddles with the wrong string spacing. It's getting replaced with a 4-saddle machined unit ASAP.

Also, the neck is pretty bent, but I am gambling on the truss rod being able to take care of it.

What pickup are you gonna use for the bridge?

Going to look for a matching one. Looks like a fairly standard bass mini-humbucker, I've seen a few on ebay that look to be the right size.

Trust me, it's not a Peavey. Not sure what it is though. Looks like it's about the size of a guitar. Definitely short scale.

I saw this one a little while ago. 8 strings and 27 frets!

I guess it's made by Galvestson I'd never heard of it...

galveston makes cheapos. i find them ok, but they don't really strike me.

but the bass in the topic sure does! looks italian or japanese. late 60's/early 70's maybe?

Similar shape, but not a Peavey. The head is much too broad to be a Peavey.

Just a 60s Japanese crazy something-or-other.

the body looks sorta' hagstrom-like , the peghead looks
sorta' kay-ish,

the body looks like the paint/finish was stripped , but not quite completely !
