Yeah, I realize there are a bunch of threads about him, his tone and his playing, but I want to talk about his tone on the I Heard They Suck Live album. It's a really unique cool tone that's light and pingy but holds down the low end very well, for example, on Nowhere. Anyone have any ideas as to how he got it? I'm not trying to copy it by any means, I just think it would be fun to play around with. Also, does anybody else want a Fatty signature? That would be wicked cool.

Possibly a Danelectro, though a similar tone could be had with a P-Bass or a Ric with the proper knob twisting.
I'm pretty sure this was before he played Danos, but that aside I'm thinking more in terms of his amp settings, EQing, etc.
