Another Ibanez Mikro Bass Fan

cts pots, orange drop cap, dimarzio pj set. I've spoken to a few other players who recommend changing the bridge but did not say what with. Current bridge is not all that bad.
Sorry, I'll be more specific. 500k CTS pots for both volumes. 250k CTS pot for tone, .047 Orange Drop Capacitor.

I played one at the NAMM show in January and it had a very playable neck and the stock pups+bridge isn't all that bad considering the price point. I def would change out the pickups if I picked one up but for what it is definitely worth their asking price.
Sixty Grit:- The Mikro comes with an Ibanez B-10 bridge. The Ibanez Accucast B-20 bridge is purportedly a drop-in replacement. I have a B-20 on order right now for mine.
The saddles on the B-10:- adjustment holes do not go all the way through the saddle...so the screw can "bottom out" possibly before correct adjustment is made.
B-20 bridge.......the holes go all the way through the saddles ....so screw cannot bottom out....
The B-20 in pictures also looks a little beefier construction......don't know if it really is....
Read lots of posts on other sites where people seemed to having difficulty findings strings for the Mikro......but Jason @ BasstringsOnline told me that any shortscale set will fit.
Yep....The sound is actually quite fat and sweet for a little bass like this......and that's with the stock rounds which are pretty light gauge.

Thanks for the info. I intend to order a b-20 today! BTW the CTS pots and orange drop cap made a huge difference in tone. I am not pleased with the tone of the dimarzios however. Have read good things about Duncan Antiquity II, I may try that but funds are drying up fast.
ZenG: I changed the strings to a set of D'Addario ECB81S Chromes Flats. The mikro did not sound good at all with the flats and after tweaking the EQ on my amp for an hour gave up and put the stock round wounds back on. Gonna order a set of the ELX170S roundwounds and try those. Will let you know how they sound.

I had the ECB81S Dads on my Jag SS...
Because it is a shortscale , the 81S's ended up being a tad thick and "cable-like" on the Jag. They sounded o.k. but were a bit stiff in the playability department.
So I figured for the Mikro I was going to go with Extra Light Gauge Labella DTF's.......(ordered some from BSOL)....not here yet.....
I'll also let you know how those turn out......
In the booklet that came with the Mikro, they list the stock rounds as being 45 to 105's...
In reality they look and play quite a bit lighter than that......although I haven't actually used a gauge on them yet.......

Weird boomy harmonics, especially on the low E from 6th fret and above. Very, very muddy. I love the sound of flats on my Pbass but this didn't even come close. It could be the physics of the mikro itself, the E is a little boomy from the 6th and above with the rounds as well but not unpleasing. Ibanez returned my email and they recommend D'addario EXL 170S as replacements. I ordered those as well as some Fender .95-.40 rounds to see if they are a little more balanced sounding from string to string. B-20 bridge should arrive today or tomorrow. Will let you know how all works out.
