Another Modded Lakland ...

5501controls.jpg

iotanet made the diagram for me when I bought the bass. I need to play it thru a good rig but so far it sounds and feels wonderful!

Are those the standard MK-1's under the pickup covers? Custom covers? If so, from where? I really like the red domes on the knobs.

Not what I want for my bass, but that's really well done.

KO
Actually, those are pickups from an MTD Z-Bass(!) and they work surprisingly well with the LH3 preamp. the bass has a really great tone -- almost P-bass-ish but very articulate with tons of bottom.

Regarding the knobs, I took them off and replaced them with the plain black rubber Lakland/MTD knobs. The chrome/red felt a bit to garish for my tastes.

I checked out my 55-01 with Bart MK-1, and the pups are mounted with only one screw at each end of the pup, not two on one end and one on the other. Will Norstrand soapbars fit? Do I just need to drill two new holes?
Thanks
