Hi, fellow TB'ers.... My turn to ask for assistance in ID-ing a set of Short Scale Flat wound strings. Brass ball ends, Bright Blue, almost a turquoise - like color on BOTH ends. The wraps are pretty tight. .091, .073, .055, .046 is the best I could get out of my cheapo digital caliper. Of course, I should automatically page @michael_t !!!
Many Thanks for your help !!

Those should be pre-2016 (brass ball ends - now they're red-blue-white-red - and light blue silk at both ends), Rotosound Jazz Bass RS77S short-scale flats.

What @HaphAsSard said above...

He should be at the top of your paging list. ;)
Ha! Not at all, sir!
A friend has recently resumed playing bass after a 2-decade long hiatus and I've been perusing roundwound-centric threads here, so that I can attempt a suggestion if/when he decides to change strings (they old ones - whatever his Nineties Cort sported out of the factory - are holding surprisingly well).
To cut a long story short, I've been painfully reminded the depths of my ignorance in the process.
It's especially hilarious when the thread is about identifying rounds: you'd basically get nothing but crickets from me...

However: stay tuned for more string history of dubious utility! Apparently, I have plenty of spare time for researching old Fender catalogues and price lists; only need to devote some to composing a referenced and decently legible post.

Haha, well, whoever is at the top of the list, I truly appreciate it!
I love playing flats at home, but most of my gigs are more suited to rounds, so I'm gonna list these in the Classified and see if anyone else has interest.
So far, my favorite flats are the ones that have a lot of "round wound" sound/tone: EB Cobalts. Glad they decided to offer these in short scale. I've actually gigged these a couple times and I haven't had my band members complain that there isn't enough clank. Not sure why they think I need that for the bottom end, but it is what it is....
