just to check, a whammy only shift the tone?

lets put an example, i set the pedal toreach 1 octave, so when i use the pedla it begins shifting the note i play so in max it reaches an octave, right?

also, what else can the whammy do?

i can see here that there are many functions:

yeah, whammy just does pitch shifting. it also has alot of harmony options that i think are pretty useless, it can do +1,+2,-2 or -1 octave shifting, plus a dive bomb effect which is essentialy like a -5 octave or something. plus detuning effects, which sounds like chorus

yeah, thats how it works. if u set it at +1 octave, at the heel down position the signal is unaffected, and when u push it all the way to heel up, the tone is shifted one octave up. and of course, everything in between is everything in between

Thancks! just what i needed to know!
  4. Here is an example of what a Whammy can do:
Korn - this is being played with a bass that is tuned E-A-D-G but the whammy is making it A-D-G-C
Pantera - This one is tuned standard but the Whammy has it tuned D-G-C-F
