Anthony Jackson Solos with Hiromi

Killer Anthony Jackson transcription and great Modulus tone.
Big fan of this Line up here. I've updated my right hand technic by adding the pick and playing more with my thumb as additional weapons to my regular finger technique; mimicking the great AJ; After seeing live vids from them.
I'm a huge fan of The Trio Project, as well as each of the members. AJ is, of course, a monster on bass. Hiromi and Simon are equally masters of all things music. Sure wish they would get together and produce more . . .
I wish too. But even if Anthony has now recovered from his stoke; i didn't see news about a real come back in the game..
Being first a pianist (bass being a close second), I adore Hiromi and her music. I'm working on her solo piece "Place to Be" on piano at the moment. I have a couple of her CD's and want to get a few more. I also love AJ's playing in her trio projects. Here is another video (can't believe it's from 14 years ago) with AJ taking quite a long solo (starting around 1:37) where he is playing his behemoth presentation bass like a classical guitar. Unfortunately the audio quality could be better but the performance is superb.
Lord, I wish I had the talent to sit in with AJ, Hiromi and Simon Phillips! Not a single note gets phoned in. Thanks for this refresher, Dr. Cheese.
Anyone heard anything about AJ these days? I’m sort of out of the loop so I apologize. I remember his health being up and down for a little while and I haven’t heard his name in a couple years. Is he still playing?
Stanley Clarke said he spoke to Anthony Jackson and said he was recovering from Covid, but seemed to be alright otherwise.

Yeah, he’s incredible. Truly one of the greats. His musical knowledge is staggering. Very inspiring.
We should send the OP of the latest “picks on bass” thread over here to hear AJ shred that solo.
Dude knows how to make the skunky notes sing.
Also that stuff around the seven minute mark is compelling for me to venture lower than what my 4 string in drop D tuning is capable of.
I'm too dumb to learn another string, so maybe I should make a bass b-e-a-d

When I depart this earth, I'll have counted hearing Anthony play bass as one of the greatest privileges of my life.
