since some AJ work is being mentioned, i submit Michel Camilo's trio cd, "Rendevous"-
it's a startlingly great showcase for AJ and his Presentation I.

No point in fretting the naysayers.
Ironic: idly judging someone with a historic body of work, who truly walks the walk without waver- - -
That's it's own form of pomposity.
I agree in recommending Michael Camillo’s Rendezvous.
Impeccable recording and performances, beautiful compositions and arrangements .
That setting gives plenty of sonic space to really hear the nuances of the Presentation I bass.
I also think this recording serves as a great showcase of AJ making good on his mission to have the bass guitar be a fully legitimate instrument in a legitimate setting:
This is historically an acoustic trio.
AJ is performing in a role normally given an upright player.
His sound, while obviously not an upright, still seems as well suited.
I'm not sure you can pull that off as well with a typical bass guitar.
Oh come, come, why all this bickering. Let's leave AJ to his new bass and maybe soon we'll see a new video of him and it on youtube.

Rendezvous predates Presentation I, No?
A repeat recommendation for triangulo![]()
Bickering
I'm happy for the poor guy... I have owned a 36" scale 20mm spacing fodera myself, he must really be into tone, it had one of the most earthquake like low B's... But downside is a bass like that is really havoc on you wrist and fingers, definitly not for everyone..
And then his bank account plundered... Poor guy hehehe
Amazing player and Bass. The Presentation II is a monster.
At 30K it should be. I've gassed for a Presentation I for a few years. ( They are 20k ) And have be saving. Now this.
Vinnie will you still make me a Presentation I ?![]()
It's really sad that people really feel the need to comment on the fact that AJ is not smiling on the photo. Maybe he's just not very comfortable around cameras...
Anthony Jackson was once a member of this forum, but comments like those by Dave Hill drove him away. Too bad it wasn't the other way around.

In my opinion, anyone who worried about AJ not smileing is the one with the problem, not AJ. Over the years, I have gotten the impression that AJ is very serious and very proud. He has an ego, but the man is great, and his career is historic. He is entitled to some pride.![]()
I may have my roman numeral chronology wrong - I don't know.
It was definitely a Presentation.
That's indeed a badass jam!
Anyone remember this radio gem? AJ's tone is flat-out NASTY here:
