To me it's like paying more for 'distressed' pre-ripped jeans... I don't get it.

Nobody I know with a tongue piercing has ever talked with a lisp. Also, those are reversible just by taking the jewelry out and leaving it out for a little while.
Relicing a bass is more like intentional scarring.
BTW - I agree with the comments about boob jobs too, natural is where it's at!![]()

Are you bewildered by the idea of intentionally damaging a perfectly good instrument?
