Antoniotsai Ritter copies!

That's been said twice so far, by Ritter owners I note. Not to be combative, 'cause I agree with you, but I wonder why this is seldom, if ever, said about Fender copies - cheap or "boutique" - some of which are far closer to Fenders in appearance than these are to Ritters.

Ultimately, as with all the Fender copies, it's good advertising and arguably only elevates the brand being copied - the mystique of graduating to a *real* Ritter someday. On the flipside, rather than helping make the look ubiquitous (as I believe Fender copies have done), it could just cheapen it.

As for these basses, they look nice enough in little pics but at best I'd expect them to play and sound like a $300 bass which, for most people, would be as useful as lighting their $300 on fire.

Jens has nothing to worry about, IMO, other than free advertising.

That's my stance as well... in fact, when Rondo was selling those EB/MM Stingray copies, I remember distinctly saying something along those lines and being flamed for it >.> the irony of it as well was that I own a Sterling (for the past 6+ years) and have owned a Bongo in the past...

I agree with all of the above. I just meant I (personally) get less excited about it since it's a copy, which is the same way I tend to feel about direct Fender copies actually. In actuality of course, everything comes from or "borrows from" somewhere. One could (arguably) call a Ritter a CT wannabe but I think Jens adds his own spin. I don't know Carl Thompsons that well, just using it as an example.

And the fact that Antoniotsai is not doing the keyword mining thing is cool.

You'd better be working out that left arm because I'm betting the same attention that Jens did on balance wasn't done here. :D

Haha. I actually did some fret counting. The horn on this one goes 1-2 frets further than the one I have, and it looks like it has a smaller headstock. Then put some ultralight tuners on there, and...:hiding:
