Any Bluetooth Speaker as Portable Amp

Thinking it would not work, I bought this $3 cable on ebay that has a guitar lead on one end and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the other. Lo and behold, it worked with everything I plugged it into, from a cheap Bluetooth speaker to my home stereo system. Its a great way to practice anywhere with a bit of extra sound, or to practice at the park hoping someone will throw some cash in your case, haha. I even use it at home if I want to play and watch a movie.

Didn't know if this was common knowledge and I was out of the loop, but I'm sure one of you can benefit from it.

I though you were going to describe a Bluetooth device that You plug your bass into for wireless use.
Not sure why you have Blue Tooth in the title?

I've often wondered about this. I have a cheap Bluetooth speaker that goes everywhere with me. I must have one of these cables.

That's what I was initially trying to find with no luck, then I found the cord that will work with any Bluetooth speaker

Many of the powered PA speakers also include a bluetooth and a 1/8" jack.

Bluetooth is a form of wireless data transmission. It is completely irrelevant to what you're doing.

Yeah, I suppose you're right. I only mentioned BT speakers because theyre small, portable, battery powered and everyone has a few.

What you really want is 1/4" TS to 1/8" TRS.

Just the opposite for me.
I have one bluetooth speaker that doesn't have a 1/8" jack on it.
Now I look everytime I buy a speaker.

If you have an interface for your Laptop, You can plug your bass into the interface and send it through Blue tooth monitors.
Dayton K402BTs are sweet for the price but they need AC power.

Not that I am trying to encourage you, but I have an earlier model of this and it might be the only "bluetooth" speaker that I can think of that could hold up to a bass.

And guess what? It's the same cost as a nice budget combo amp/cab. I say take a pass.

Definitely. Wouldn't want to push it too hard, but it is serviceable for a quiet practice session...

Maybe not except portable amps like roland cube or pjb double four.
As of couple yrs. ago when shopping for a portable stereo/ small boom box. I remember, nearly all of them where bluetooth compatible and seem to be named for it collectively. Sutch is marketing, like "crossover" vehicle no more station wagon.
