Any DIY pedal builders on TB? Strut your stuff!

My verdict on the Delegate: not the kind of compressor I want for bass :( But it's a great guitar compressor/sustainer :) I should have known really, it's apparently based on the Ross circuit which for me isn't ideal for bass. I'm wanting more of a dbx rackmount style compressor in a pedal and the only comps I've built like that are versions of the Engineer's Thumb circuit. So having built the FuzzDog and DeadEndFx versions I'm now going to make the PedalPCB one since they've just released it and that can go in the Delegate enclosure. Maybe I'll put the Delegate in a guitar multifx enclosure one day since I have a collection of unused, unboxed builds now...
Good to know. Mines still in the works, but I wonder how it will compare to my EHX Bass Preacher for bass.
If it works well for guitar I'll just keep it for that. My guitar playing is worse than my bass playing, and I dont even have a proper amp. My friend from work is gifting me a loaded 4x12 cabinet (Jensen, not sure which model) and I'll probably power it with a vintage Peavey Mark 3 bass amp and the PedalPCB Mesa Flux Drive clone. Will it sound good? Eh? But it will be loud. :bassist:
 
@AudioTaper Love the TO-18 2N2222As, they add at least 17.93% more mojo, IIRC. The Terminal is based on the FY-2 Companion, or a period clone from that era? I think I saw "JAX" mentioned somewhere... I'm wondering how close to the original Companion EQD got. I've got a companion build brewing on digital-paper, but not sure which take on the circuit I'll use.Invalid Link Removed
Definite mojo with TO-18. Not as much as with TO-38, which has up to 20% more mojo. Someday, I may be able to tame the mojo of some of the old stuff my grandpa left me.

As far as the JAX, I had a Fuzz-Wah that used their TR8 fuzz circuit. It sounded kinda thin and hissy, but definitely brought the fuzz. I sold it last year, didn't look back.
 
I still need to make up some labels, but I have the PedalPCB Depot Fuzz (EQD Terminal clone) boxed and wired up. I can't wait to sit down and really play with it, especially when I get the OC2 clone finished. I feel very un-creative with the labels and enclosure color scheme. I need to really work on that because the stuff the rest of you are posting looks great!

I'll be interested to hear how yours works out, it could be I've made an error with mine or some IC/transistor swapping might make a difference for bass.

the only thing that i'm wondering about is the 3-position DPDT mids toggle, and whether it's an on-on-on or an on-off-on.

The way the mids switch works is that it puts caps in parallel with the two caps that are always attached to the mid EQ. When in the middle off position you have the default caps and then in two outside positions you are putting in parallel caps to make a different effective cap value.

And I guess the first pair of diodes is just something silicon, like 1N4148?

Yea those are fine. 1n914, 1n4148, or equivalent works fine.
I actually like the LEDs a lot more in the build I did. Si diodes had too much compression.
