Any gig almost kill you?

Numerous times of long drives (Cincinnati to Chicago for instance) by myself right after a gig fighting sleep the whole way. playing at Navy pier in Chicago on the 4th of July in 100 degree heat on a uncovered stage. But more resent playing at a wedding gig outdoors in a tent with ungrounded power, lucky i wore rubber soled shoes GTR player wasn't so lucky and got knocked off his feet by a power surge.

I have two tales of true rock n' roll death defiance.

Once, on the way back from a gig, our van door slid open. 70mph on the motorway. You won't believe how high a bunch of pissed metalheads can shriek.

Another time, cruising along happily down a charming country lane, a flock of pheasants decide to fly alngside our van for a bit. One of them was suicidal and dedides to dive-bomb our van. He came off worse.

Almost had the roof fall in on our drummer at a gig in Nashville once. I kept hearing weird flams and grace notes from his kit, then I heard him doing that "yelling whisper" thing to get my attention. I looked back, and small chunks of plaster and wood were falling on him.

Fortunately, we were near the end of the set, and we rushed through the last two songs. We ended up talking to the manager and he told us that, yes, this really WAS their last weekend in business, and that the building was due to be condemned. :(

Played a packed show in the middle of August in a room with broken air conditioning. We always used to wear polyester suits and a couple of my mates had a real big thing about us not stripping off layers during the set.

Well, a couple of beers before the gig and not enough water during and I almost collapsed halfway through our set of heat exhaustion.
You know that feeling when you're dehydrated and you actually get the chills? Yeah, scary stuff...

Luckily, a friend brought a bottle of water up onstage and I chugged the whole thing just in the nick of time between songs. I didn't collapse and was able to finish the set...here's a shot of me during the set.

Yeah, it kinda looks like I fell in a swimming pool...you can see a single dry spot on the collar of my shirt.
