Position Description:
Provide individual instruction to undergraduate and graduate students in classical and jazz double bass performance, including a weekly studio class, and teach undergraduate courses in the Liberal Arts Core (music appreciation courses for non-majors). Recruit potential students and maintain an active service portfolio. Additional assignments depend on department need and area(s) of expertise. Maintain an active portfolio of scholarly research/creative activities.
Education Requirements:
Master of Music in double bass performance required. Doctoral degree in double bass preferred.
Required Qualifications:
Recognition for excellence as a performer with demonstrated proficiency in both classical and jazz performance styles required. Experience teaching in private studio and classroom settings at the colleagiate level is also required.
Desirable Qualifications:
Previous teaching in classroom settings is preferred.
