ANY love out there for MIM's?

I have a 2011 Squier Affinity Jazz bass, and the difference in playability compared to my ex's MIM Jazz was enourmous. I would rather have the Mex any day!

I have a MIM Strat bought new in about 2004, and I love it. I wouldn't even sell it for full retail price... The first one I took home, There was a deep crack in the laquer at the neck pocket and wonky tuners so I sent it back. The shop lent me a dull pink strat while they sorted a replacement :vomit:. The second one, I kept. No problems with it, the pickguard is slightly lifted near the neck pickup, but it's a nice pick-holder.:bassist:

Quick edit: The blue Jazz is now yellow. Hell Yes.

I 'think' my MIM Jazz (also lake placid blue!!) is a 1993.. Brought it new that year anyway and it's been my main bass ever since and I don't intend changing it anytime soon.
Natch I upgraded it a bit over the years : Seymour Hots , Badass bass II bridge, Schallers, brass nut etc
But yeh : I LOVE it !!!

My '04 or so MIM fretless Jazz plays quite nicely. Tone-wise, it doesn't mwah a lot on flat EQ, but I wasn't sure if that's a function of just not setting it right or if the still-new (flatwound) strings need to break in, but when I boost the mids it rings out fully.

Other than a wooden pickguard, I haven't modified it at all. And I think she's ready for a little experimentin'.

It was already a great player. I simply dropped in some Fralins, and now it's a monster. The newer MIM's have normal Jazz pup dimensions. If this bass is any indication of the recent MIM's, then they're certainly great basses. Of course, you have to find one that has "the goods", but you have to do that with the U.S. models too. Fwiw, I would pick this over the Squier VM5 any day of the week, and I've owned (and liked) two of them.

Lots of love for MIM here. I have a road worn jazz that I had refinished in sonic blue and threw in some Fralins that has become my main gigging bass over both a 1975 P and a 1972 J. The fit and neck of the MIM road worn is remarkable.

Here it is next to the 1975 P.

Then I have a Cabronita P that was MIM that is lovely as well. Probably going to throw a real TV Jones in there at some point.
