Had a great time cruising around some trails yesterday. Until my bars finally caught one of the beaver cages wrapped around tree trunks...........went down kinda hard, but had to laugh! I was warned, and was being careful about them, they were painted the same color as the bark.....

I stuck a pair of these on the Tracer a couple of weeks ago. Un-freakin'-believable ice performance. Dry trail-like traction on pure ice. Mucho useful around here.

Yep, American River, was just cruisin around..........right near Paridise Beach.........I've been a roadie forever so this area was suggested to explore..........I wanna get up to Salmon Falls trail next..........I need someone to ride with though......all my buddies are roadbike guys too........

I've been riding more this year than in recent years. My FS is down and while I do enjoy the snappy handling and superior stompability of my HT, I miss my Trail Smurf and need to get it running...soon!

Snow/ice riding is awesome!

It's a nice day so I snuck out lunchtime for a burn. I rode some terrain that's not accessible in the summer due to it being liquid.

The studded tires are ridiculous.

I've been riding more this year than in recent years. My FS is down and while I do enjoy the snappy handling and superior stompability of my HT, I miss my Trail Smurf and need to get it running...soon!

Sweet bike there! Snow riding in SoCal is a RARE treat.

I'm having issues with the rear derailleur and/or cable/housing. I just need to find the time to get it on a stand and figure out what's going on...I hope it's just the cable/housing!

I love the American....never did any off road though...Just Discovery Park to Folsom Lake and back on the paved trail. Is the dirt stuff as many miles long as the paved ?

ARRGGG ... I recently had some rear derailleur issues that I finally worked out. It can be such a frustrating, pain in the butt, figuring out the issue. It's then I start contemplating turning it into a SS ... then I come to my senses and just deal.

Good thing for back-up bikes ... mine has kept me on the trails a number of times already this season.

Shuttled up Mt. Wilson yesterday. Our group of three fell over 10 times. By the half way mark we were all pretty beat up and decided to cruise the rest of the way. No one was seriously injured but made me consider buying a pressure suit and some high top mountain bike shoes. My ankles seem the first to get injured.

Anyone riding today?

Had a nice-ish SS jaunt today; caught(& left )a dude on a nice Santa Cruz, then caught a guy on a very nice Specialized HT 29er- he was walking a dog(leash in one hand). He let me by at the halfway point of the climb, I got out a bit, then he dropped the leash, passed & left ME. I kept him in sight, & might have gotten closer to him but his dog was TOTALLY blocking for him. Stinkin team tactics. I ate wrong & have been off the bike too much lately; the descent was less fun- stomache wasn't happy. Bike also needed work, so I walked more than usual. Gonna play w/it tonight.
