Sweet! I am heading out in a little while.. This whole week will be in the 70's. Live to Ride!

I actually picked it up yesterday. I only got into mountain biking last summer thanks to a co-worker but the bug bit me pretty hard. The Diamondback I was using was a little too small and just barely made it through the summer. I budgeted my self pretty well at school this year and since i didn't have any serious GAS for bass gear I picked this 2012 Trek Mamba up.I can't wait for the semester to end so I can hit the trails. Here's the bike after a quick first ride around town between classes this morning.

Man- I had to go down 5 pgs to find this! I hope everyone's too busy riding to post.
Got my Scalpel back together- Craig Smith from Mindon Cyclesmith did a kick-A job rebuilding the fork, I got the rear shock loose AND replaced the seals(seems to hold air, yay)and I stole the Hayes HFX-9 brakes from my Gemini- they work GREAT but drag big-time... I tried opening the bleed valve on the calipers & squeezing a little fluid out, which *seems* to have improved matters, but I'm hesitant to get too gung-ho.

Nice, Paladin54- RH's are very capable. I painted my wife's 80-something 'hopper pagoda green w/faux Hawaaian(that looks misspelled)/hibiscus flowers. Yes, random reply.
So- everyone's still pedalling, eh? FINE- I'll go too then. Betty's brakes still drag, but that'll just give the local trail-wussies a sporting chance. ;)

So , I took the plunge and ordered a Custom Ti frame.
I'll receive it by June , it should see mud in August.

Till then , I'll ride my trusty Cannondale 1FG.

but with Rohloff dropouts/guide and carbon belt rear opening.
Just have a crank and both brakes to get.

The Lefty is amazing !

Had an amazing deal , 300$ for a 3 month old Speed carbon OPI. Couldn't resist even if I was Über satisfied with my headshock. With the new build I'M doing ,The Lefty is gonna go on the Kocmo and the 1FG is gonna see it's Headshock back as a true SS.

Talking about the new build , just received the first parts !
I alrady have the wheels (and the Rohloff) , the Lefty , OPI stem , Got the saddle/post/collar yesterday:

Fokof, it is FABULOUS! I stole the HFX-9 brakes off the parked Gemini, replaced the air seals in the rear shock & had Craig Smith of Mindon Cyclesmith rebuild the Headshok- all issues solved. This bike damn near rides itself! The video is all the first time I rode it; the rear brakes quit at the start of the ride, the rear shock lost all air & the fork had no damping, but I could tell pretty quickly that I'd be one happy dork once I ironed out all the bugs. It is absolutely one of my top three all time favorite bikes(the other two are my other SS MTB & a long-gone Spec'd carbon Epic). Will try to go follow my wife around Rockville Park tomorrow, weather permitting- although I'm hoping for rain(in which case we'll hang at home, watch movies & *talk* ;))
