Any mountain bikers??

DH racing is intense. I did it for a few years but found I didn't enjoy my self-imposed expectations and I was always a bit worried about getting hurt. Also, standing around and waiting your turn got old fast.

Concentrate on a nice clean run. Don't hit features way faster than you're used to doing and suck up any jumps. You're better off not running the whole race right at your limits and staying on the bike. Crashes and get-offs are costly when you're on the clock. :D

How long is the course and what is it like?

I just put my summer tires on the rims and I realized I have a big gash in the sidewall of my rear one. Perhaps now is the time to buy the Schwalbe Hans Dampfs I've been eyeing and convert to tubeless...

Thanks for the advice! I'm pretty sure I can do the whole trail in around 4min without stopping. This race is more a friendly competition between friends but there will be cash prizes and trophies so I'm pretty excitied! So far there are two classes and about 35 riders. Here's a video of A-side. There are A, B, C and D trails and the trail will be chosen day of. It's mostly singletrack. Rider is me. :D

Almost done? needs quite a few parts, but I'm getting there.

Can't seem to get the video to work. :(

It's working for me- too damn good!(t's raining AND I'm on kid duty today- no rides for awhile.. :()On a positive & related note, we will be snagging a GoPro soon. :hyper:

Works for me now! Looks fun, some good jumps there. It doesn't look very technical so high speed is the order of the day!

iamdenialNJ: Have you booked a trip to Whistler yet? Think about a 3400' descent with 150+ jumps in the form of tables, gaps, step-ups and step-downs plus a few vertical rock faces for flavour. :D

Yeah that trail isn't the most technical but it is the fastest out of the others.

I haven't made any plans as of yet to visit whistler but will go one day. The videos of whistler look so badass!!!! I'm going to dedicate this summer to mammoth as its drivable. I already bought my 2012 summer pass so i'll be heading up there a few times. They are only $179 till.the end of the month.

Yay, yay & YAY! Found a shop that can free up my Scalpel's RR shock- the fork is en route to NY for a rebuild & I will either throw the Gemini's brakes on for now or get some BB-7s... on that note, does anyone know anything about compatibility of drop or dirt-drop bars(& levers)& mechanical discs? I daydream of drops on the Scalpel.

My DJ project is an old(no disc mts)full-sus Diamondback w/an earl SID shock- $1(just the frame, but still )at a garage sale, got a RS Dart for a 12-pack & the rest of the parts should be somewhere in le garage... haven't had the time or energy to work on it. Also diddling w/kids new bikes, building clunkers for them, working on my own SS... I sleep sometimes too. :D
