ANY NEW RICK MODELS COMING OUT?

They sound great, but they are pieces of crap in my experience. I've owned 3 and they all sucked.

The suck came from QC.

They REALLY need to do a 4005 reissue (semi hollow body). That is the ONE bass I have always seriously regretted letting go (it was a mint jetglow '68). I won't even mention how cheap I bought and sold it for, as I've beaten myself up enough, thank you. If they built it with the same quality, it would sell like gangbusters. They made very few of them, unfortunately.????? Loved them toaster pups. I won't be holding my breath though.

If they reissued the 4005, they wouldn't sell but a handful. With 4003's listing at $2,100, a 4005 would be at LEAST $3,500, probably more. At that price range, very very few people would buy it.

I see where he's coming from. I don't openly bash Ric's and I love their sound and their look, but I washed my hands as well after seeing the QC standards they have for brand new $1900 instruments (this is circa 2011). Sure, they'll take it back / fix it for you, but it shouldnt have gotten to you in that state in the first place, especially when people order online these days, they KNOW what they want, and their product comes straight from the factory with glaring issues.

And when "staying with tradition" means not addressing faulty designs, such as the cheap plastic pickup cover thats also a real dog to remove, and the ever-constant tail-lift issues.

Yeah they fix it but your out 50$ or so to ship it to them, you shouldnt have to pay shipping for there faults.

For the record I love my 4003 but when i called ric to register it the Customer service guy was a total prick.
