Or, a good place to have a VHS copy converted to DVD.

Are you in a city? Dig around CL, you will find somebody local with the gear to rip a VHS. It really isn't that hard in today's day and age. Heck, if you know somebody with a kid who streams their videogames they'll likely have a capture card and should be able to copy it.
