The bass is an older imported model. For some reason there is a following developing for these instruments. I personally think they're all junk. Back in the day you didn't aspire to own this bass. It was the best you could do for your money and you had no choice. You aspired to get a real bass and couldn't wait to leave this behind. The magic of nostalgia, quest for the unknown, and marketing has brought these instruments back to the market place. I laugh every time I see one for sale! This bass is a novelty / psuedo-collectible with a niche market. Spend the $200 (or add to it) for a more modern entry level (or better) bass. There are many to choose from. Unless of course you want to start collecting junky old Japanese basses. In that case it is a good entry point into the market.

I always though the term "lawsuit" was reserved for very well made copies that threatened the original manufacturer. Not a cheap POS like this.
