Any Schecter owners out there?

I never thought I’d like Schecter as they aren’t “known” for basses, but there was a diamond series stiletto at guitar center. Active, long scale, with P style neck pickups and m style bridge pickups. I was playing it, trying out other basses (some twice the price) and kept going back to it. The tone, the smoothness, feel of neck (matte finish gives it a smooth slide). Just everything. I walked out of there with it. Really think it’s a sick bass.

I used to swoon over the stiletto exotic and custom back before I started taking bass more seriously. I’d probably be more likely to go with the cv4 or cv5 now a days though. Wish they had more finish options for them.

All of the ones I’ve tried have played very nice and sounded great in active mode. My Ibanez sounds better in passive mode, but I rarely use it anyway. Both brands are amazing values, especially used if they weren’t trashed!

Sounds like you bought a Schecter Stealth.
I had one up until recently, great bass for the money but couldn't pass up a trade offer and had to include it - I was also going for different kind of sound I was missing in my bass collection. It's a very comfortable bass for sure, the MM style pickup on mine sounded a little nasally when soloed, so would often just use it sparingly with the P bass pickup.

Yeah that’s the one. I’m not sure where to go as far as getting a better bass. Not a fan of fender (they sound decent but “feel” clunky to me). I like stingrays, but they are out of my price range for a while. Have liked the Ibanez basses I’ve tried.

Currently thinking about giving one of their new CV-4's a home. They're not crazy beefy, but I need to weigh the one I have my eye on and make an informed decision. I don't think it's has hefty as the 10.5 lb. Warmoth Jazz I used for a lot of years, but it may only be a few ounces lighter. That's an issue for me now when a bass is going to be on my shoulder all night.

The switching on those pickups is neat-o-mosquito!! Lots of dimension and several useful tones on tap. I know that if I buy this one, I'll be thinking about swapping the pickup selector switch for a blend control. My luthier pals will help with that informed decision. Cool bass that might not quite do it all, but seems to do more than enough for me.

Yeah my Yamaha has a “tone switch” that I enjoyed, but my Schecter just sounds better for what I’m doing.

Ooh, that is pretty. Double hums? I think that was the one up from my model, which is the stealth, not stiletto. They really do just feel nice in the hands .
Well technically it is a Stiletto Stealth as mine is a Stiletto Studio. My son has a Stiletto Stage. Since all EMG soapbars are technically humbuckers, yes they are humbuckers. My plan is to put some Nordstrand big singles in it at some point. I'm glad you like it. Welcome to the community of the most underrated basses on the planet.

I had a Diamond J with DiMarzio pups in it...it was a great bass and played wonderfully, but J-basses aren't my jam. I ended up trading it for an MTD Kingston Z (!!) so I'd think I made out pretty well.

I'd definitely get another Schecter though. Most instruments are made in Korea/Indonesia/China/Vietnam anyways, so I'd rather cut out a middleman and not pay for a brand name. Same goes with Cort.

Previous owner. I champion the Hellraiser Extreme 5 any chance I get. It's a great bass and a great value.
