To expound slightly...
IN 2012, I was looking for a 5 string bass I could pick up at retail for about $1000. Since nobody stocks the basses I wanted to demo, I ordered an Ibanez BTB775, an MTD Kingston Heir 5 and a Schecter Hellraiser Extreme 5 from Guitar Center. After comparing them to each other at home for a couple of days, I came to two conclusions: these are all outstanding instruments and the Schecter was the best bass for me.
I returned the Ibanez and MTD.
The only downside to me is that I preferred the looks of the other two. Otherwise, the Schecter was the clear choice. A special mention ought to go out to the excellent setup right out of the shipping box; intonation was spot on and the strings were all adjusted to a fine height. I raised the B string a hair as I got a little buzz when I played it aggressively, but otherwise fantastic.
