Anybody gigging and wearing a mask?

One of my two working gigs has taken a date coming up this Thursday evening. Outdoors. I will absolutely be wearing a mask, and doing my best to sing through it.
Facts: masks both protect the individual and minimize the spread of COVID.
Those denying both of those facts are placing themselves and their fellow citizens in danger, and prolonging the damage to our economy. It may feel good to be macho about exposure; but, such behavior is childish and ignorant. This virus is completely NOT the flu, counter to popular misconception. We need to stop being stupid as a population and get with the facts. It is extremely frustrating to see a sizable fraction of our fellow citizens behaving like children. Bad enough that we have to endure the whole thing.
Also, no inside gigs for me until we have a vaccine. Period.
Please, get accurate data, and adjust your behavior to be consistent. Play on.

I did the gig last Saturday night with my soul/funk/disco band at a large outdoor party. There was plenty of room for the band to spread out, and plenty of room to get personal space during breaks.
I remained masked most of the night, including singing through the mask, though I did take it off for a song or two. I deliberately placed myself behind the singer to avoid any potential viral transmission from her.
It was certainly fun to play again, and I was tickled that the band was so tight despite three months off. That said, there was just a weird vibe throughout the night.
I was literally the only person masked in a group of 100 or so. As others have said elsewhere, it was just as if all had decided that the virus just had gone away.
Weird. If I was a solo performer, I'd hang it up for a year.

I did an indoor double a few weeks again and didn't wear a mask. Here in Georgia they still had limits on how many tables, patrons, staff wearing masks, etc. Now I have two more gigs this weekend indoors and all restrictions were eased and with COVID cases are going the wrong direction. I'm torn about wearing a mask. Grrrrrr.
We have been playing outdoor gigs. Rarely see a mask on patrons. I dont wear a mask. Couple guys in the band have one hanging around their neck and pull it up after tear down. Indoor and big festival gigs all have been canceled.
Just did our first show last night since pre-pandemic. Wedding that had been scheduled for over a year and postponed twice. Varying levels of comfort within the 8 piece band. Masks were required indoors; exceptions made for horn players. I used a simpler "sleeve" type of stretchy cover over my nose/mouth/neck that made it easier to sing (at least I felt it did). Also didn't interfere with my in-ear monitors.
We all have our own mics. Hand sanitizer was plentiful. I was at the very back of the stage in nobody's exhale zone. We had good distancing from each other, and excellent separation from the crowd. A room that holds 400 was set up for perhaps 150. I'm not saying we were at zero risk, but it could have been a LOT worse. I sure didn't eat the dinner that was being served in a buffet line, or the desserts that sat uncovered for up to 7 hours. I stayed outdoors on breaks, which also kind of sucked due to 90F and humidity.
For me, playing was not fun. It was work. Two outdoor rehearsals were supposed to knock off the rust, but we were nowhere near tight enough for my liking. Plus, the masks greatly inhibit on-stage communication. Already we can't hear each other talk, so it's eye contact, facial expression, lip-reading... Just about impossible with face coverings.
Most of all, I was disappointed with how the post-covid challenges sucked the joy right out of the gig.

This. My one gig since the virus hit hard locally in mid-March was not nearly as much fun as I'd hoped. The vibe was just awful (at least mine was!). And wearing a mask while playing just felt "not right," at least from a non-medical perspective. I was much happier than usual to pack up and go home after that one.
Last week our band leader emailed a local venue that is our favorite, and where we were scheduled for this upcoming Friday 7/17, basically saying the band had concerns about transmitting and acquiring the virus. The venue manager was a prince, saying he'd be happy to postpone for a while, and might we like a late August date?
So we said yes, thank you. We're off the hook for this weekend. I'll worry about late August in mid-August.
Interestingly, there is a band or two locally (mostly new bands) that seem to be aggressively going after gigs and venues that other bands have passed on. I know some of these players, and hope they can stay safe in places I personally don't want to be anywhere around, masks or no.
I mask-up for rehearsals, but no gigs at all right now.

Have had two outdoor gigs since COVID hit, wasn't wearing a mask while playing. The one time I walked into the establishment, I wore my mask, however when preforming I did not. I did two and I don't feel great about the situation, not booking anything until something changes

The surf bands really were forward looking in their stage schtick, I guess it helps not having vocals too.
Been doing outdoor dates with no mask for a couple months. For indoor if somebody insists on the mask then I don't play.
So this is what taking a gig "for the exposure" means now...

Wore one this morning. All of my gigs (until this morning) since I've been back have been outside, on stages easy to distance myself. I avoid the crowds on breaks.
I've done Outdoor three gigs. No masks, but the audience was 15 feet away first gig, about 25 feet away second gig and 50 feet away third gig. Band wasn't packed together, but not 6 feet away and no masks.
I'm not feeling very confident about upcoming gigs given the numbers climbing so fast.
