anybody using four 1x15" cabinets stacked vertically as their main rig?

I think just this part got mangled in translation software: "I don't feel comprehensions for muscicians (guitar players at at most) who think have to weaken an ast one sits."

@ThisBass, just reading the tone of the response and where the paragraph was leading, I think you mean something like "I don't care too much for musicians, mostly guitar players who play so loud you can't hear the other band members."

Maybe you can read English well or can translate that back and agree or disagree.

Sorry to butt into the conversation, but somebody has to keep the Russian Chihuahuas in Canada and the German bass players in good communication! What if there were an outburst of anger? The chihuahua could bite the German and lead to an infection! I hate to think what that would lead to! :D just saying :D Seriously, it's great that the software has been developed so well that we communicate at a very good rate of understanding.

Right,
and it just reminds me on a band many years ago, which did rock cover, two guitar players with Marshall full stacks. I asked the guitar players to turn down volume a little bit in rehearsal room cause drums and keys was already drowned, and already hard job to compete with the guitars with a classical svt stack. They refused so in the end I didn't join the band.

The guitarist Gary Yoder is an old friend of mine going back maybe 30 years, and I provided PA on many of his later projects and he just might play a few amps that I have built. All that loud music has certainly caught up with him though, he is pretty hard of hearing (not unexpected).

Don't overthink it, its rock n roll. Joe Blow guy in the crowd rocking out to the band isnt going to care and say "OMG, he has FOUR 15's, that's overkill... He should be using blah blah and it must be vertically stacked!!" As Digital Underground used to say "Do Whatchu Like".

It was interesting to know something about reason why he (as an experienced player) suddenly wants to drown out the kick drum on stage and in the house cause there is no PA support and (probably) no monitoring support on stage

I get the thing about the audience doesn't know any better, but I think we should do our best at whatever we do, especially when it's our passion or occupation. Also a lot of people don't know that bad sounds sound bad, but when they hear a really nice sound, they almost always have an ahaaaaaaaa moment.

Just a thought, but they usually don't care if you're using four of them either. What they DO notice is that if you're too loud for their tastes, they'll leave. That as well as if you just plain suck or sound bad.

I always chuckle at the guys bagging on super loud players. I myself will NEVER need more than 215's on stage. I simply don't play in a band that needs that much stage volume. BUT- I've seen bands that do and can dig that. I throw some earplugs in and enjoy.
If you wanna blow your ears out go for it- it's a free country (kinda)
I've played pretty well maxed out SVTs into 810s with huge side fills and monitors blowing things up on stage- I have to admit it's a glorious feeling. I can't rock it every night, but every once in awhile it's awesome to feel your whole body on the verge of implosion....

that is a awesome rig though, and might be using outboard n software
effects. guy is a great live pplayer

I agree, I'm not saying the general audience is of lesser intelligence, I was just suggesting that they are at the show to have a good time and rock out with the band. Gear and sound are just part of the picture, stage presence, attitude, and crowd engagement are also very important, its the difference between a rock show or some dudes playing background music over in the corner...

This literally never happened (being necessary). That's 1 15 per 10 people. So unless you're using antique low wattage low efficiency speakers and/or a 5w amp, no. Your guitarist rolling into a small cafe with 5 marshall major stacks doesn't count as "necessary".
