I think Jack was looking back the early years when he was a young guy as bass player and musician.
The composition and articulation adresses a distinct genre at late 60's resepectively early 70's.
He's nothing but a child of it's time.

In college my Music Theory teacher gave us the Definition of Music Paraphrase. Webster " the science or art of ordering tones or sounds in succession, in combination, and in temporal relationships to produce a composition having unity and continuity" .
linear or nonlinear and forward movement in time Change in pitch, and or tone

SUNN does fit that description.
There are other definitions for vocal, printed etc .But teh one above is more open..

probably the defining band of this rather odd subgenre:



not even really "music" as much as a sort of sonic sculpture, with air-molecule-frying volume as a key component. my guess is there's no drummer or singer because it would be physically impossible to mic or hear them.

i also suspect these guys rock the monk robes to hide navy carrier flight deck-style ear muffs.

Jack Bruce took some influence from drone bands on his last album.








Bagpipes are a drone instrument, they have been around a long time in a lot of cultures, drone is an ancient form of music, also appears in local of meditative vocal forms and such. Its just electrified now.

I dig that album cover. Song's pretty good too.
