Anyone else getting this CL scam where you are?

This has happened twice…
“I saw your ad. I want to buy it. Are you the first owner of it ? I don't check cl mail , so email me”
…then there’s a name attached to a Gmail account with an unusual, unrelated name. I have a couple of things listed, but there’s no reference in that response as to what they’re interested in, different name/email. What do you mean “I don’t check cl mail”? So bogus. But I was curious if it was popping up across the country, like those nasty little personals ads that are similar, placed in “musicians”.

I get them all the time. Usually just at the start of a listed item.

I think they are trying to say they don't check email from Craigslist (then why are they trying to buy something via email on CL?).

They are trying to get your personal information.

That particular one, with that wording? It’s a new one to me. There’s a local lowballer that everyone gets, he’s like clockwork. And I’ve certainly gotten laughable bot type messages in the past. But this is a new wrinkle; I was curious if they were shotgunning CL all over.

I'm trying to sell three items on CL and FB marketplace. Both places are flush with scammers. I thought FB was better, but I guess not anymore.

And I got this exact email for all three, minutes after posting on CL.

Yes. I get this on both CL and Reverb. It is the fake check cashing scam. If you can, report the email as a scam.

Yes, I listed a guitar on Philly’s CL last week, and got three similar emails trying to get my personal information. I’ve gotten them in the past too.

Yep, I get that one all the time. Definitely a scam, and the message should be deleted immediately. Long ago I started adding a note in my posts to have responders put a specific word/phrase related to the sale in their response. Whenever I get any kind of generic response I simply delete and ignore.
