I get that exact message all the time in Nor Cal.

This has happened twice…
“I saw your ad. I want to buy it. Are you the first owner of it ? I don't check cl mail , so email me”
…then there’s a name attached to a Gmail account with an unusual, unrelated name. I have a couple of things listed, but there’s no reference in that response as to what they’re interested in, different name/email. What do you mean “I don’t check cl mail”? So bogus. But I was curious if it was popping up across the country, like those nasty little personals ads that are similar, placed in “musicians”.

Every time I list anything for sale.
I always report those emails as scams, then delete them and move on.

I use the TEXT FREE app and I have eliminated ALL spammers.
Since I stopped using my real phone number I only get legit interest.

I've received messages with almost the same wording to a few items I put up for sale. Usually within the first hour of listing the item. Anything that doesn't mention or ask a question about the actual item I have listed gets ignored, along with the usual lowball offer.
